Working with Mr. Riley was a great experience. I am a Navy veteran who was approaching retirement and wanted to purchase a home. My income was good but my credit had suffered severely mostly due to my wife's medical condition. Mr. Riley worked with us and devised a plan that allowed us to eliminate all our bad debt in less than six months. He referred us to several banks that offered VA loans at very low rates. I have since retired from the Navy and owe Mr. Riley a great deal of thanks for time and effort put forth in helping my family and I achieve the American Dream.
It has been nearly two years since I first met Harold Riley. I came to him at that time after being referred by HUD to the agency he was working for. I was a single parent struggling to make a huge mortgage payment after my husband left my daughter and I. The mortgage company was contacted and I explained my situation to no avail. I was now five months past due and knew it was a matter of time before the house would be lost. In a last ditch effort I contacted HUD and this is how I came in contact with Harold. He was professional and respectful to me and my daughter. We met with him about three times before we sent the modification package to the mortgage company. He was determined to ensure all i's were dotted and t's were crossed. I did not hear anything from the mortgage company for more than a month and knew eventually I would have to vacate. Then all of a sudden, I got a package from the mortgage company saying my modification had been approved. I completed the trial period and my mortgage was modified to an affordable payment. Harold stayed in contact with me throughout the whole process and continues to email us occasionally to make sure everything is alright. He is a good man and I was delighted when he asked me to write a testimonial. My daughter and I were on the verge of losing our home and for reasons unknown, Harold was placed into our lives. I am confident his company will do well, but I am even more confident he will do right by those who seeks his help!-
After experiencing a divorce several years ago, my credit and reputation were severely damaged. I thought that owning a home was completely out of reach. I was introduced to Harold Riley by someone purchasing a home through Concorde Realty of NE Florida. I explained my situation to Harold and he assured me that he would do what he could to make my thought of purchasing a home a reality. He worked with me for a few months to identify debts, payoff what I owed, and re-establish my credit. Well needless to say, I not only recently purchased a home, but a brand new home in the area I so desired. His starting this company is God Send for those like myself who did not know where to start. I recommend Jacksonville Housing and Credit Counseling to anyone in Jacksonville seeking a home.
Homeownership for my wife and I appeared to be out of reach do mainly to our credit. Years of bad decisions and poor money management resulted in credit scores around the low 500's. We now had great jobs and substantial incomes but could not get a loan approval to purchase a home. After being turned down a couple of times, we decided homeownership was not for us. Around March of 2013, one of our church members purchased a brand new home. She gave a testimony of how she had endured credit problems and was referred to Jacksonville Housing and Credit Counseling Services. Strangely, her situation was similar to ours so we felt there was a chance. We called the number she gave us and scheduled an appointment. Mr. Riley was upfront and honest with us about what he could and could not do. He put us on a rigorous monthly budget to clear up some things and we did it. Needless to say, we closed on our home in August 2013. I to have referred friends, relatives, and church members to this organization so they may also own a home one day.
